It's great to see one of our representatives speak so boldly about God. If I may play the secularist, this is how they would defend Forbes' words.
One, Britain's trinity declaration was not ours, but common on all English government documents. Belief in the Trinity was not the beliefs of the signers as Forbes claims.
Two, the Yr of the Lord was the general way to date documents at that time, and in no way eludes to us a Christian Nation.
Three, the Holy Trinity opinion was not made by the framers.
As to my opinion, Forbes should have said, "The day we ceased to be a Christian Nation is the day we started killing our posterity, subverting the Preamble of the Constitution. Another example is when any State declared homosexuality legal, as the framers executed homosexuals.
The day the fundamentals changed, as Montesquieu spoke of, regarding Natural Law, is the day we ceased to be a Christian Nation.
