Black Tea Partiers Demonized As “Sell Out Negroes” At NAACP Convention

July 28, 2011 by DiscerningCitizen · Leave a Comment

Black people apparently must think the correct thoughts and have the correct opinions or they’re really not black, they’re “sell out negroes”. Isn’t this just another form of slavery? If you don’t have the freedom to think for yourself and develop your own opinions, how can you be considered a free person?

This kind of stuff just shows how morally bankrupt and ridiculous so many on the left are. If anybody is keeping the black community down, it’s groups like the NAACP and the Democratic Party that tell people what to think and reinforce their dependence on government.

If you haven’t had the urge to bang your head on a wall in a while, be ready to when you check out the video below.

A Sullen Obama Shown Up and Outclassed by Netanyahu in Recent State Visit

Netanyahu Meets With Apparently Irritated and Sullen Obama

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu showed himself to be a class act during an awkward visit with an apparently irritated and sullen president Obama a week and half ago. The week Netanyahu was to visit the US, President Obama bizarrely started a “disagreement among friends” with Israel that I think ended up being pretty embarrassing for him and the United States.

It all got started in his so-called “Arab Spring” speech when the president urged Israel to return to it’s 1967 borders as part of a peace agreement with the Palestinians. Read more

SEIU’s David Kieffer on Bypassing Voters to Raise Taxes: The voters don’t ‘need to be involved in this decision’

June 2, 2011 by DiscerningCitizen · 8 Comments

There truly is no end to the greed of the public employee unions. SEIU executive director David Kieffer isn’t going to get his way at the ballot box, so he wants to bypass voters altogether and stick already over-taxed Californians with even higher taxes in an effort to close the state’s massive budget deficit.

In a state where 9000 public employee retirees collect over $100,000 in pension benefits every year (totaling $1.1 billion in expenses for the CalPERS, the public employee retirement system), the last people to be asked to sacrifice for the greater good will be the public employee unions. How Conservative is Tim Pawlenty Really?

May 24, 2011 by DiscerningCitizen · 1 Comment

Republican presidential contender Tim Pawlenty has been saying some good stuff lately, but is he truly the conservative we need to face down Obama in 2012?

After announcing he’s running for president, Pawlenty displayed some very conservative mojo by telling Iowa voters that ethanol subsidies, which benefit the farm states bigtime, need to be phased out. Read more

Tim Pawlenty Was For Cap and Trade Before He Was Against It

May 18, 2011 by DiscerningCitizen · 2 Comments

Is it me or is the Republican presidential field looking a little weak these days? I’ve never been enamored with Tim Pawlenty, but after finding out he was for cap and trade before he was against it, I’m not too excited about voting for him. I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised – after all, he may be a Republican, but he got elected governor in the very blue state of Minnesota.

SEIU Goes Full Communist at Los Angeles May Day Rally

May 7, 2011 by DiscerningCitizen · 5 Comments

Ringo the Gringo over at Ringo’s Pictures attended the May Day Rally in Los Angeles last weekend and took a ton of pictures. If you’re a Lenin or Che fan, the pictures should give you a warm and fuzzy because the communists were out and proud. More disturbing, however, was the fact that labor unions were out and proud as well, marching practically arm in arm with communists and gay and lesbian and radical racist Hispanic groups like La Raza. For Howard Dean, What is Good for Party More Important Than What is Good for Country

March 29, 2011 by DiscerningCitizen · 1 Comment

Former DNC Chairman Howard Dean apparently is more concerned with achieving political victories for his party than doing what is good for the country. While federal spending is completely out of control and the federal government is racking up trillion-plus annual deficits, Howard Dean is licking his chops over the prospect of a budget impasse that he hopes will lead to a government shutdown that will be politically damaging for the Republicans. For Kucinich And The Liberal Left It’s Politics First, Constitution Second

March 26, 2011 by DiscerningCitizen · 2 Comments

Democrat Dennis Kucinich made waves this week when he blasted President Obama for taking us to war in Libya without the congressional authorization required by the Constitution.  On Monday, Kucinich apparently was a passionate Constitutional originalist – even sounding a lot like many stalwart defenders of the Constitution on the right. But as of Friday, his case of constitutionalism was once again cured by simple politics. Read more

Biden In 2007: President Declaring War Without Congressional Approval An Impeachable Offense

March 24, 2011 by DiscerningCitizen · Leave a Comment

As I wrote about earlier this week, hard left Congressional Democrats are angry at President Obama for starting a new war in Egypt without first getting the constitutionally required authorization of Congress.  Hypocrisy and inconsistency are standard fare among politicians, but it’s always good to point it out wherever it occurs and hold the perpetrator’s feet to the fire about it. We should always demand the highest integrity from our elected leaders.

As I pointed out in my prior post, Obama very explicitly stated in a Boston.com presidential campaign Q&A that he believed the president is required by the Constitution to get authorization from Congress before declaring war. Interestingly, Vice President Joe Biden apparently also believed the same thing, even going so far as to say he “would move to impeach” the president over a violation of the War Powers Clause.
